I have a meeting with a non-English speaker. Do you offer interpreting?
Oregon Translation does not offer oral or sign interpreting services. We prefer to focus on the written word, for which we have established a solid reputation and best practices. If you are planning a meeting with speakers of two or more different languages, then you need an interpreter. While the language abilities of translators and interpreters are very similar, there are major differences in how this talent and training is applied in speaking versus writing. Most translators do not interpret and most interpreters do not translate. Even though we do not offer interpreting service directly, after 14 years in this industry, we may just be able to refer you to a suitable interpreter if you write to us explaining your need. There is no charge for referrals; we're happy to help when we can.
