Oregon Translation = Matchmaker for your custom needs
At Oregon Translation, we view ourselves as matchmakers. We listen to how you describe your project and we look over the source materials to gauge the topic, the target audience, and the level of technical terminology in a given industry, and other factors addressed in the Oregon Translation Project Planner.
We then assign the best translator + editor team for that specific combination. A translator with the analytical and scientific skills to translate your technical handbooks is not likely to be the best translator to craft your marketing message in a second language. Therefore, we aim to assign your document to experienced language professionals, who are native speakers of the target language and well versed in your subject matter.
We are also flexible enough to pull in additional à la carte resources when needed for your unique project. Some customers of Oregon Translation ask us to produce print-ready graphics or InDesign files in several languages. We have highly skilled graphic designers with whom we work regularly, three of whom hold a degree in Art from the University of Oregon. One is also a professor at the Art Institute of Portland; a second used to work in-house at Adobe and is intimately familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite. We also partner with a local print shop, AAP Creative for customers seeking a one-stop translation and printing solution.
Other Oregon Translation customers ask us to translate audio scripts and provide foreign language audio recording. Working with our partner recording studio, Oregon Translation produced the Spanish museum audio guide for the esteemed Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) when it hosted the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit by Grande Exhibitions in 2009. Oregon Translation has the same capability for computer-based or online training programs that incorporate audio. Transcription and subtitling are additional audio-video services that fall within our capabilities
Web Localization is an advanced service we can offer in conjunction with our sister Web services company, Canvas Dreams. Localization engineering and localization testing are highly specialized and customized to suit your unique needs following a technical planning session.
Any of these services can be added on to a basic project on an à la carte basis. We only wish to include the services you want and need.
